Supporting a community project to protect predatory bird habitat and nesting areas, SEASONS developer LDC erected an elevated cedar platform along the lake shore. The platform is visible from dozens of homes at SEASONS. Within a few days, a pair of ospreys took up residence. Hopefully the ospreys will build a nest and lay eggs next spring. In the meantime they spend their days fishing and riding the thermals. (Double click on the photo to enlarge)
Owl in nearby woodland photographed by a SEASONS resident on a morning walk with her daughter. Other birds frequently seen are ospreys, eagles and various hawks. Significant bird habitat is easily accessible from SEASONS. Within the community natural areas have been retained to attract predatory and song birds.
